We are looking for someone to be a House Manager. This could be a flexible part time job, or, for someone with the right skillset, it could be fulltime with benefits!
Mapletree is a residential program (group home) for up to 12 teenage boys, ages 16-20. Most are on juvenile probation, but they’re all good kids! The program is in a large two-story house with seven bedrooms and five bathrooms.
The House Manager works with the other staff and residents to keep the group home in good order. The ideal candidate for House Manager will be good at and enjoy three general areas: household maintenance, shopping and meal preparation, and working with residents.
The House Manager: is a home handyman (handyperson), good at maintaining, fixing, and solving routine household problems, will oversee general household cleaning and maintenance (inside and out), supervise the boys with “chore lists,” ensure that bedrooms are kept neat and clean, and help residents with their laundry. Generally, make sure that the house and grounds are kept up, and that if highly skilled maintenance or repairs (e.g. major plumbing, electrical, carpentry) are needed, problems are identified and directed to appropriate trades.
The House Manager is responsible for grocery shopping, maintaining an orderly (non-institutional) kitchen, cooking, baking, general meal preparation, and clean up.
The House Manager is expected to be a “teacher” in all areas, patiently helping the guys learn how to do such things for themselves. Must have a car, valid driver’s license, and able to shop for groceries and supplies as needed (residents help with shopping). Occasionally transport boys to appointments.
For an individual with the right skillset, this could be a great job and a chance to make a difference with kids!
If you think this might be a good fit for you, please send a resume with a cover letter about your skills, experience, and interests to firstname.lastname@example.org. We hope to hear from you! Thanks!
