Jesse brings a love of the outdoors, gained through years spent camping, fishing and hiking in Northern Minnesota, as well as his skills and appreciation for music, to his work in the social services field, which began in 2011 at an adult foster care/group home. From there he became a Lead Direct Care Counselor, spending three years doing in home work with a disabled gentleman who had challenging behaviors. For the past three years now, Jesse has worked full time as a Direct Support Professional with Provide Care Inc in North Branch Minnesota, and, since 2017, part time at Mapletree.
Jesse has years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and intellectual disabilities, including challenging and highly aggressive behaviors. For Jesse, it's very important to instill trust and camaraderie with these individuals and to develop and preserve a cohesive working relationship with them. Jesse has found that these efforts towards teamwork and diplomacy help make this profession highly rewarding to work in as well as promoting happiness and success in his own professional and personal life.
Jesse tells the guys at both of his respective positions that they are a team and that he is always working for and with them, never against them. His sole objective is to help them procure a productive, healthy and fulfilling life!
